Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You create and then deploy a Business Activity Monitoring (BAM) activity on a computer that is running Microsoft BizTalk Server 2009 or Microsoft BizTalk Server 2010.

  • The BAM activity tables of the BAMPrimaryImport database have at least one NULL value for a milestone in a date dimension.

  • You run the BAM Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) package to process the date dimension.

In this scenario, you receive an error message that resembles the following:

Errors in the OLAP storage engine: The attribute key cannot be found when processing: Table: 'bam_<activity name>_ActiveFacts', Column: '<column name>_ID', Value: '0', The attribute is '<column name>_ID'.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

  1. Apply the following cumulative update package.

  2. Re-create the scheduled aggregation views if the data in the existing dimension is not important. If the data in the existing dimension is important, create new BAM views.Note The new views are created from all the data in the BAMPrimaryImport database.
