Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You have a Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Integration Services (SSIS 2008 R2) or Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Integration Services (SSIS 2012) package or that contains multiple Sort transformations in a data flow task.Note The design of the SSIS 2008 R2 or SSIS 2012 package allows multiple Sort transformations in one dataflow task to run in parallel.

  • You use the DTExec.exe command prompt utility to execute the SSIS 2008 R2 or SSIS 2012 package.

  • You run the package on a computer that has more than two CPUs.

In this scenario, an access violation might occur.

To work around this issue, run the package on a computer that has only one CPU.
