Windows 11 helps you make phone calls and schedule events using suggested actions on your PC. When this feature is turned on, suggested actions appear when you copy a phone number or future date. An example of a suggested action is making a call with Teams or Skype or adding an event in the Calendar app. Suggested actions are curated based on the calling and calendar apps installed on your PC.

Note: The suggested actions feature is currently only available in North America.  

How to use suggested actions to make a call

To use suggested actions to make a call, you'll need at least one calling app installed on your PC.

To make a phone call:

  1. Highlight and copy a phone number.

  2. Next to Call number, select your desired calling app, and follow the app's on-screen instructions to make the call.

How to use suggested actions to create a calendar event

To use suggested actions to create a calendar event, you'll need at least one calendar app installed on your PC.

To add an event to your calendar:

  1. Highlight and copy a future date or time.

  2. Next to Create event, select your desired calendar app, and enter the other event details.

How to navigate suggested actions with your keyboard

You can use your keyboard to navigate the suggested actions menu once it's open.

  1. Press Alt + A to set focus to the first option in the Suggested actions menu.

  2. Then, press Tab to move forward through menu options or Shift + Tab to move back through previous menu options.

Manage suggested actions in Settings

You can turn suggested actions on or off from Windows Settings:

  • Select Start  > Settings  > System Clipboard > and turn the Suggested actions toggle Off or On.Open Clipboard settings

You can also access this setting from the suggested actions menu:

  • From the Suggested actions menu, select Settings . If you don't see Settings , select the down arrow and then select Settings .
