Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You create a Host Initiated Process (HIP) application that includes multiple methods in a Microsoft Host Integration Server 2010 environment.

  • The IBM host transaction calls the HIP application to pass data to multiple methods that are defined in the HIP application.

In this scenario, all the data from the IBM host transaction is passed to the first method that is defined in the HIP application. The data is not processed as expected because it is not sent to the correct methods.

Cause

This issue occurs because the Host Initiated Processing components do not correctly interpret the incoming host data. This occurs when the data is based on the resolution string and position settings that are defined in the HIP application when multiple methods are defined.

Resolution

Hotfix information

The hotfix that resolves this issue is included in cumulative update package 3 for Host Integration Server 2010.

For more information about how to obtain the cumulative update package, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

Workaround

To work around this issue, create multiple HIP applications in which each application includes one method. Do not use multiple methods in one HIP application.
