Microsoft distributes Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 1 fixes as one downloadable file. Because the fixes are cumulative, each new release contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 1 fix release.

Symptoms

Assume that you run a query that has the following characteristics in Microsoft SQL Server 2012:

  • The query includes a COLLATE clause that references _90 Windows collations.

  • The query includes a LIKE operator and a % wildcard. Additionally, characters follow the wildcard.

  • The input string includes a substring of the characters that follow the wildcard.

For example, the input string in the following query contains "pL" and "p," which are substrings of "pLe":

SELECT 1 WHERE 'pLpLe' LIKE '%pLe' COLLATE Korean_90_CS_AI

In this situation, the query may return incorrect results.
