Symptoms
When you try to save some edits to a Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 presentation that is located on a server, you receive the following error message:
Upload Failed This file is locked for editing by user_name.
Noteuser_name is the placeholder for your user name.
This problem occurs when the following conditions are true:

The presentation is encrypted by a password.

The presentation is created by another user.

The presentation is still opened by the user.
Workaround
To work around this problem, follow these steps:

Save a local copy of the presentation after you make the changes.

Close the presentation.
-
Ask the original author to close the presentation.

Open the presentation again.
-
Merge the changes with the presentation that is located on the server.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
