When your computer is configured to use Web view and you open a folder,
you may receive the following error message:
Internet Explorer Script Error
An error has occurred in the script on this page. Line: line number Char: character number Error: error Code: code number Do you want to continue running scripts on this page? CAUSE
This behavior can occur if any of your hypertext template (.htt)
files are damaged.
RESOLUTION
When you finish the steps in each of the following sections, test to
determine if the issue is resolved. If the issue is resolved, do not
continue to the remaining sections. If the issue is not resolved,
continue to the next section.
Extract the Appropriate .htt FileIf you receive script errors only when you open one of the following folders, extract the appropriate related .htt file from the Ie4shl95.cab file for Internet Explorer 4.0 for Windows 95:Collapse this table

How to Extract Original Compressed Windows Files
Remove Web CustomizationIf multiple folders are causing the script error, remove Web customization from any folder that generates the error message. To remove customization from a folder, use the following steps:
Remove and Reinstall the Windows Desktop Update ComponentIf the issue is not resolved, remove and reinstall the Windows Desktop Update component to refresh the .htt files. In Windows 98, reinstall Windows 98 to refresh the .htt files.
