This issue occurs because root path redirection behaves incorrectly under Windows 32-bit on Windows 64-bit (WOW64) mode. Under WOW64 mode, if the same component is installed and then is registered as both a 32-bit binary file and a 64-bit binary file, the WOW64 registry operation redirects to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\SOFT1 instead of to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SOFT1 to avoid collision. However, the filter driver may also redirect to an open registry key for the application virtualization. This behavior can cause this issue.
