SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to shut down your computer and then restart it, an error message may report that the Devldr program is not responding. When you click End Now, the shutdown process may stop and the computer may stop responding.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur because the Creative Labs driver Devldr is not compatible with Windows 2000.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, remove the Devldr driver and then disable the Devldr service.
