SYMPTOMS

When you start Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word starts also.

CAUSE

This issue may occur if you have ATI HydraVision versions 2.5 or earlier multi-monitor management software installed on your computer.

To verify that ATI HydraVision is causing this issue, stop Desk95.exe and Viewport.exe, and then start Outlook. If Outlook starts but Word does not start, ATI HydraVision is causing this issue. To stop Desk95.exe and Viewport.exe, follow these steps:

Press CTRL+ALT+DEL.
In the Windows Security dialog box, click Task Manager.
Click the Processes tab.
In the Image Name list, click Desk95.exe, and then click End Process.
In the Image Name list, click Viewport.exe, and then click End Process.
