When you extend the metabase schema with custom properties, the custom properties may become corrupted. CAUSE If you restart Internet Information Services (IIS), the next free property ID is not correct. If you create a new custom property, the new custom property overrides the last custom property and corrupts the schema. RESOLUTIONHotfix InformationA supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.If the hotfix is available for download, there is a "Hotfix download available" section at the top of this Knowledge Base article. MORE INFORMATIONThe Schema\1004 metabase key stores the next property ID for custom properties. After you restart IIS, the Schema\1004 key is always one number too low. As long as IIS is running, the Schema\1004 key is incremented correctly.
