After you install Microsoft Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) on a Windows XP-based computer that uses only Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) connections such as ISDN connections or dial-up connections, you cannot connect to IPv6 addresses using a IPv6 tunnel.
CAUSE
This problem may occur if the computer is not equipped with a physical network adapter. The problem occurs because the internal periodic timer that the IPv6 driver uses is not started until a local area network (LAN) interface is registered.
