Article ID: 838306 - Last Review: December 3, 2007 - Revision: 5.8 FIX: Web applications that use the Jet database engine may stop responding under heavy load
On This PageSYMPTOMSYour Web applications that use the Microsoft Jet database
engine may stop responding. Note Microsoft Access uses the Jet database engine. CAUSEThis problem occurs because a bug exists in the Jet database
engine. This problem occurs only on Microsoft Windows Server 2003. In Windows Server 2003, COM+ changes how frequently the CoFreeUnusedLibraries function is called. This change causes the Jet drivers to reinitialize frequently. This behavior may cause a deadlock condition. This problem occurs most frequently when the Web server is under a heavy load. RESOLUTIONService pack informationTo resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows Server 2003.
