SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to install Internet Explorer 5 or 5.5 from your hard disk, a shared network drive, or a CD-ROM, the Download Only option is available even though the Setup files are available locally.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 and 5.5.

MORE INFORMATION

The Download Only option should not be available when you are installing Internet Explorer 5 or 5.5 from your hard disk, a shared network drive, or a CD- ROM because the Setup files are available locally. If you select the Download Only option, Setup opens a Download Sites dialog box, which is not needed for a local installation.

APPLIES TO
