CauseThis error has a limited impact and does not prevent a restore operation from succeeding. This error message occurs when a restore is interrupted, and the checkpoint file that is used to restart a restore is not written, or the checkpoint file is not written correctly. If you receive this error, it means that, if for some reason the restore operation is interrupted in the middle of the process, you have to restart it from the beginning of the backup file rather than the checkpoint file. WorkaroundThe error message usually occurs when you are restoring from multiple backup files, a process that is sometimes referred to as a "striped restore." To avoid the error, do not specify multiple backup files in your restore operation. More InformationThe problem is frequently reported by customers who use third-party backup software tools to back up their SQL Server databases.
