Stop 0x1e Error Message Adding Port to Triple Lanstreamer PCI Network Adapter

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to add a port to a Triple Lanstreamer PCI network adapter, you may receive the following error message on a blue screen:
Stop 0x0000001e (0xc0000005, 0xF6D7439C, 0X00000000, 0X00000000)

CAUSE

This problem can occur if this is the third port you are adding to the network adapter. This error message does not occur for the first two ports added.

This problem is a result of a problem with the Streamer.sys file included with Windows 2000.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, contact IBM to inquire about the availability of Windows 2000 drivers for your network adapter.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Windows 2000.
