DVD Programs Do Not Start MCI-DVD on Windows 2000

When you try to play games from a DVD-ROM, you may receive the following error message: NOTE: Other games on DVD-ROM using the MCI-DVD driver may produce different errors.

This problem occurs because programs using the MCI-DVD interface and driver are not supported in Windows 2000.

This behavior is by design.

Most third-party companies now use DShow instead of MCI-DVD.
