Mapped Network Drives Not Available After Upgrade

SYMPTOMS

After you upgrade your Microsoft Windows 95-based computer to Windows 2000, network drives that were previously mapped using a local Windows 95 account named "Administrator" are not migrated, and are no longer mapped.

CAUSE

This issue can occur because the local Windows 95 account named "Administrator" does not have valid domain credentials.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, do not use a local computer account named "Administrator" to map network drives before you upgrade to Windows 2000.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
