SYMPTOMS

When you use Windows 2000 drivers for your Intel i740 chip set-based video adapter, available color depths, resolutions, and refresh rates are limited. Also, the choices available may be limited to what was available when you used other versions of Microsoft Windows with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) supplied drivers.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, contact the manufacturer of your video adapter to inquire about the availability of a driver that provides extended functionality.

MORE INFORMATION

The driver included with Windows 2000 supports the maximum capabilities of this chip set. Your video adapter manufacturer might have expanded the capabilities of the RAMDAC, possibly requiring manufacturer-specific drivers to obtain extended color depths and resolutions.
