Unable to Copy a Compressed File to a Different Drive

SYMPTOMS

When you try to copy a compressed file to a different drive, the copy operation may not work.

CAUSE

This issue can occur if the destination drive free space is less than the uncompressed file size. When you copy a compressed file, it is decompressed first, and if your destination drive does not have sufficient free space, the copy operation does not work.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, increase the amount of free space on your destination drive.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
