SYMPTOMS

There may be an exclamation point in a yellow circle next to the Standard IDE/ESDI Hard Disk Controller entry in Device Manager after you upgrade to Windows 2000 on a Hewlett-Packard Netserver E-45 computer. You may also see the following device status:
This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)

CAUSE

This issue can occur if the computer's Basic Input/Output System (BIOS) is not compatible with Windows 2000.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, contact the computer's manufacturer to inquire about the availability of a fix for this issue.
