When you close a Terminal Server client session window, the computer running Terminal Server interprets this as a broken connection instead of a disconnected session. Although you are informed that your session will be disconnected when you close your Terminal Server client in this manner, if the Terminal Server has been configured to reset broken connections, your session is lost. RESOLUTION
To avoid this situation, perform one of the following:
