When you are using client-side caching and attempting to synchronize offline data, you may receive the following error message:
Errors occurred while Windows was synchronizing your data
Offline Files (\\Server\file on server): Unable to connect to '\\server\file.' The specified network name is no longer available.
Offline Web Pages (CNET News.com): Error Downloading URL.
CAUSE
The offline file synchronization (or more specifically, Synchronization Manager) does not differentiate between LAN connections in Windows 2000.
RESOLUTION
To work around this issue, use either of the following methods:

Offline File Synchronization Setup displays only one LAN connection even if multiple LAN connections are available and the name of the LAN connection is "LAN Connection." As a result, offline file synchronization cannot be configured or performed separately for each LAN connection.
