Closing TCP/IP Properties Prompts You to Restart Your Computer

SYMPTOMS

After you install Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) and you close the TCP/IP Properties window, you may be prompted to restart your computer.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you click OK to close the TCP/IP Properties window, even if you do not make any changes.

RESOLUTION

To work around this behavior, click Cancel to close the TCP/IP Properties window.

MORE INFORMATION

After you restart your computer one time, you can view TCP/IP properties without being prompted to restart your computer again.
