SUMMARY

When you install Exchange 2000 Server, you must choose the per-seat licensing model. This requires that a client access license be purchased for each client connecting to your Exchange 2000 Server computer.

MORE INFORMATION

When you install Windows 2000 Server or another Microsoft BackOffice server product, you must specify whether the product is to be licensed in per-seat or per-server mode. Exchange 2000 Server supports per-seat licensing only. If you have not purchased a client access license for every computer that will access Exchange 2000 Server, you must purchase the required licenses prior to using Exchange 2000 Server.
