When you upgrade to Windows 2000 Professional from Microsoft Windows 95 or Microsoft Windows 98, a black screen with no cursor may be displayed after you first restart the computer.
This behavior occurs after you start the upgrade process and files are copied, followed by the first restart. After the Power On Self Test (POST) is finished, a black screen with no cursor is displayed. CAUSE
This behavior can occur if the GoBack software from Roxio is installed on the computer. GoBack versions 2.1d and 2.1e are not compatible with Windows 2000.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, uninstall the GoBack program before you upgrade to Windows 2000. For information about how to uninstall the GoBack software, please refer to GoBack technical support at the following Web site:
