Dial-up Connection Is Not Disconnected When the Internet Connection Sharing Option Is Disabled

SYMPTOMS

When you right-click the Active Internet Connection icon on the taskbar, and then select the Disable Internet Connection Sharing checkbox, the following message is displayed:
You have disabled Internet Connection Sharing. Would you like to disconnect from the Internet now?
If you click Yes, your computer's dial-up connection is not disconnected.

RESOLUTION

To work around this behavior, right-click the Active Internet Connection icon, and then click Disconnect.

MORE INFORMATION

This problem only occurs when you use the Active Internet Connection icon on the taskbar to disable Internet Connection Sharing.
