The Sfpdb.sfp file is a database file containing a list of protected files used by System File Protection (SFP).
The Sfpdb.sfp file is located in the \Windows\System\Sfp directory and is not protected by SFP. When a file that is listed in Sfpdb.sfp is modified, deleted, or renamed, the information about the file is compared with the information in the System.cat file. If the file matches the information in the System.cat file, no changes are made. If the information for the new file does not match the information in the System.cat file, the new file is moved to the \Windows\System\Sfp\Archive directory. The correct version of the file then replaces the missing or renamed file. The list of files in Sfpdb.sfp also matches the list of files in Filelist.xml.
