VBScript Error Message Occurs When You Use Terminal Services Advanced Client

SYMPTOMS

When you connect to a server that is running Windows 2000 Terminal Services by using Terminal Services Advanced Client (TSAC), you may receive the following error message:

VBScript: Error connecting to terminal server: Servername

CAUSE

This issue can occur when the client is unable to locate the Terminal server on the network.

To resolve this issue, verify that the client can contact the Terminal server by using the NetBIOS name or the IP address. To do so, run a ping command to search for the server.

If you connect to the Terminal server by using the Internet, type the IP address or Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) of the Terminal server that you are attempting to connect to in the Server box on the logon screen. If you connect to the Terminal server through a firewall or proxy, verify that port 3389 to the Terminal server is open.
