SYMPTOMS

You do not receive the AutoUpdate Remind Me Later dialog box when you click the Close button to close the notification message, which states that downloads are available.

This behavior occurs because you have configured AutoUpdate to notify you when updates are available before downloading, which you enabled by selecting the Notify me before downloading any updates and notify me again when they are ready to be installed option.

MORE INFORMATION

If you configure AutoUpdate to notify you when updates are available before downloading, and if you click the Close button to close this update notification, AutoUpdate will continue to notify you about updates instead of generating the Remind Me Later dialog box.

To find the Notify me before downloading any updates and notify me again when they are ready to be installed option, in Control Panel, click the Automatic Updates tab.
