Quitting Text-Mode Setup Does Not Restart the Computer

SYMPTOMS

On a computer that is based on the IA64 architecture, if you attempt to quit Windows XP Setup during the Text-mode portion of Setup by pressing F3, you receive the following message:
Press enter to restart your computer
The computer does not respond when you press keys on the keyboard and it will not restart. You have to restart the computer by using the power on, off, or reset button.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, contact the hardware manufacturer for a firmware upgrade.

This is a known issue with the firmware on some IA64-based computers.
