SYMPTOMS

After you upgrade a Gateway Profile 3 computer from Windows Millennium Edition (Me) to Windows XP, Windows XP may not retain the original mapping of two keys on the Gateway enhanced keyboard.

The Large Arrow key that opens the My Documents folder in Windows Me opens the My Computer folder in Windows XP.
The Question Mark key that starts the Windows Help program in Windows Me starts the Calculator program in Windows XP.

Trying to reassign these keys does not work.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you are using the Universal Serial Bus (USB) keyboard Windows Driver Model (WDM) filter driver Sk9910uf.sys version 1.0.2.0 by Silitek Corporation.
