HOW TO: Create Disk Quota Reports in Windows XP

This step-by-step article describes how to create disk quota reports in Windows XP. You can see the status of each user that saves files to a volume with the disk quota system, but there is no feature to create a report on this information automatically. However, you can use a drag-and-drop operation to move the information from the volume to a software document (such as a spreadsheet or a word-processing document).

Create Disk Quota Reports

1. Click Start, and then click My Computer.
2. Right-click the volume for which you want to create a report, click Properties, and then click the Quota tab.
3. Click Quota Entries.
4. While you are viewing the quota entries, open a document in the program that you will use to create the report (such as a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet).
5. Click the quota entries for the users you want to include in your quota report, and drag the rows to the program you are using to create the report. For example, you can drag the objects to a spreadsheet or a to a word-processor document.

NOTE: The transferred data retains the same column and entry order as it had in the Quota Entries box.
