When you click Customize in the Microsoft Office Custom Installation Wizard, you may receive an error message similar to the following: Microsoft Windows 98 and Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition:
This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.
IEAK6WIZ caused an invalid page fault in module IEAK6WIZ.EXE at 0167:0109250. Microsoft Windows NT and Microsoft Windows 2000:

WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, install Internet Explorer 6 by using another method outside the CIW, for example, an Internet Explorer Administration Kit (IEAK) package. For more information about deploying Internet Explorer 6 by using the Internet Explorer Administration Kit (IEAK) 6, browse to the following Microsoft Web site:

MORE INFORMATION
You can use the Office Custom Installation Wizard (CIW) to install and customize Internet Explorer version 5.x. However, the CIW does not work with Internet Explorer version 6. When you click Customize in the Customize IE 5 Installation Options dialog box, the CIW attempts to call the IEAK Wizard to open the IE5setup application, which does not exist.
