- Service Pack Setup Program Removes Application Compatibility File
The Service Pack 2 (SP2) Setup program removes the Windows Installer file Msimain.sdb from the %WINDIR%\AppPatch folder. Windows Installer uses this file each time that an MSI package is installed.
- A User Can Delete Folders on the Local Computer
When the Delete cached copies of roaming profiles policy is enabled, and a user has created an NTFS junction to another folder on the local computer, that target folder is removed along with the cached local profile when the user logs off the computer. - Update to Cause the Groveler Service to Search Only the RemoteInstall Folder
Prior to this update, the default behavior of the Single Instance Storage (SIS) Groveler service is to search the entire volume on which Remote Installation Service (RIS) is installed, for duplicate copies of files. This update changes SIS to share files only in the RIS tree on the RIS volume. This means that non-RIS related files will no longer be linked by SIS. There is a new registry setting that you can use to restore the Groveler service to its previous behavior (scan all files on all configured volumes).
- Hotfix Installer Adds Uneccessary Attributes to System Files
The Hotfix installer program (Hotfix.exe) may unneccessarily add System, Read Only, and Hidden attributes to updated Windows files in the %WINDIR%\System32\Dllcache folder. - Update to Windows Service Pack Installer for Windows Powered Devices
If the Windows Service Pack installer (Update.exe) trys to install a Windows Powered catalog file on a Windows Powered device, and it does not install that file elsewhere, the installation is unsuccessful.
