Article ID: 329357 - Last Review: February 21, 2007 - Revision: 3.5 Windows Server 2003 Adminpak.msi Does Not Run on a Windows XP-Based Computer Without Service Pack 1This article was previously published under Q329357 SYMPTOMS You cannot run the Microsoft Windows Server 2003
Administration Tools Pack (Adminpak.msi) on a computer that is running Windows
XP without Windows XP Service Pack 1 (SP1). Note that Microsoft Windows XP Tablet PC Edition includes SP1. CAUSEThis problem occurs because the version of the Dsprop.dll file that
is included with Windows XP has been updated. The Dsprop.dll file
is included with Windows XP, but it has been changed in Windows Server 2003.
Windows Server 2003 Active Directory Administration Tools must use the newer
version of Dsprop.dll to run correctly. You cannot install the Windows Server 2003 Administration Tools Pack (Adminpak.msi) on a computer that is
running Windows XP if you have not applied SP1.
