When you configure a Home folder for a user in the Active Directory Users and Computers user profile, the Home folder may not work correctly. This problem may occur with users who log on to the domain remotely by using a Microsoft Windows XP-based computer. When the user logs on to the domain by using cached credentials, the %HOMESHARE% environment variable is not available.
This problem occurs because the %HOMESHARE% environment variable is not saved after the user logs off the domain.
