You cannot download files from an FTP serverArticle ID: 816037 - View products that this article applies to. SYMPTOMSYou may not be able to download files from an FTP server by
using Internet Explorer 6.0. CAUSEThis problem occurs because Internet Explorer 6.0 uses
Passive FTP to download files from an FTP server that is configured so that it
only has a limited number of available TCP ports. Passive FTP uses an arbitrary
TCP port to connect to an FTP server and may not connect if the FTP server is
configured to use a limited number of TCP ports. RESOLUTIONThis hotfix is included in the latest Security Patch for Internet Explorer (MS04-004) Please use Windows Update to make sure your system is up-to-date.
