On This PageSYMPTOMSWhen you increase your monitor's dots per inch (DPI) setting, icons in folder tree views may be too small to see clearly. Icons that may be affected include tree expansion boxes that contain a plus or a minus sign, folder icons, and check boxes. These icons may be too small to click by using your mouse pointer. However, text appears correctly and clearly. CAUSEThis problem occurs when the DPI setting in Display Properties is set to a custom size greater than 100%. RESOLUTIONService pack informationTo resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Windows XP.
