IIS settings are missing after you run Sysprep with the -nosidgen command-line switch

After you install Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) and then run the Sysprep tool with the -nosidgen command-line switch, the IIS settings and IIS components are missing from the resulting Sysprep image. For example, when you open the Internet Information Services snap-in, the Default Web Site and the Default FTP Site entries that were previously configured on the computer are missing.
This problem occurs because information that is required for Windows to access the IIS metabase is incorrectly deleted when you run Sysprep with the -nosidgen switch. As a result, Windows cannot access the IIS configuration information.

File InformationThe English version of this hotfix has the file attributes (or later) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in coordinated universal time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.
This hotfix contains two packages.
To work around this problem, manually install the IIS components that you want after the Sysprep operations have finished running. To do so:
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2.
