SUMMARY

Microsoft has released an update to the Italian version of Microsoft Office Visio 2003. This update addresses an issue where you receive an "Insufficient Memory" error message when you try to print from the Italian version of Visio 2003. This issue occurs regardless of the following factors:

The printer driver that is being used.
The type of printer that is being used.
The operating system that Visio 2003 is installed on.
The document that is being printed.

How to download and install the update

Client update

If you installed Visio 2003 from a CD-ROM, you have the following two options:

Use the Microsoft Office Product Updates Web site to automatically install all the latest updates that include all available service packs and public updates.
Install only the Visio 2003 Update: KB832362 by following the steps that are described later in this article.

Note Microsoft recommends that you install the update by using the Office Product Updates Web site. The Office Product Updates Web site detects your particular installation of Microsoft Office and prompts you to install exactly what you must have to make sure that your Visio installation is completely up-to-date.

To have the Office Product Updates Web site detect the required updates that you must install on your computer, visit the following Microsoft Web site:

After detection is complete, you receive a list of recommended updates for your approval. Click Start Installation to complete the process.

To download and install the update to client computers, follow these steps:

Click Save to save the Visio2003-KB832362-FullFile-ITA.exe file to the selected folder.
In Microsoft Windows Explorer, double-click Visio2003-KB832362-FullFile-ITA.exe.
If you are prompted to install the update, click Yes.
Click Yes to accept the License Agreement.
Insert your Visio 2003 CD-ROM if you are prompted to do so, and then click OK.
When you receive a message that indicates that the installation was successful, click OK.

Note After you install the update, you cannot remove it. To revert to an installation before the update was installed, you must remove Visio 2003, and then install it again from the original CD-ROM.

Administrative update

If you installed Visio 2003 from a server location, the server administrator must update the server location with the administrative update and deploy that update to your computer.

If you are the server administrator, follow these steps to download and install the update for administrative use:

In Windows Explorer, create a new folder on drive C, and then name this folder KB832362.
Click Save to save the Visio2003-KB832362-FullFile-ITA.exe file to the KB832362 folder.
Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, and then click Command Prompt.
At the command prompt, type the following lines, and then press ENTER after each line:
cd\KB832362
Visio2003-KB832362-FullFile-ITA.exe /c /t:c:\KB832362
Click Yes to accept the License Agreement.
Type exit to exit the Command Prompt.
If you are familiar with the procedure for updating your administrative installation, click Start, and then click Run.

Type the following command in the Open box
msiexec /a Admin Path\MSI File /p C:\ KB832362\MSP File SHORTFILENAMES=TRUE
where Admin Path is the path of your administrative installation point for Visio 2003 (for example, C:\visio2003), MSI File is the .msi database package for Visio 2003 (for example, Vispro.msi), and MSP File is the name of the administrative update (for example, Visio2003-KB832362-FullFile-ITA.msp).

Note You can append /qb+ to the command line so that the Office 2003 Administrative Installation dialog box and the End User License Agreement dialog box do not appear.
To deploy the update to the client workstations, click Start, and then click Run.

Type the following command in the Open box
msiexec /i Admin Path\MSI File REINSTALL=Feature List REINSTALLMODE=vomu
where Admin Path is the path of your administrative installation point for Visio 2003 (for example, C:\visio2003), MSI File is the MSI database package for Visio 2003 (for example, Vispro.msi), and Feature List is the list of feature names (case sensitive) that have to be reinstalled for the update. To install all features, you can use REINSTALL=ALL, or you can install the following feature:

How to determine whether the update is installed

The update contains an updated version of the following file:

   File name      Version

   Visintl.dll    11.0.3604.0

To determine the version of the Visintl.dll file that is installed on your computer, follow these steps.

Note Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, see your product documentation to complete these steps.

Click Start, and then click Search.
In the Search Results pane, click All files and folders under Search Companion.
In the All or part of the file name box, type Visintl.dll, and then click Search.
In the list of files, right-click Visintl.dll, and then click Properties.
On the Version tab, determine the version of the Visintl.dll file that is installed on your computer.
