Although installing the programs that are listed in the "Applies to" section on the same server may be a good testing environment, we do not recommend this practice if a company is
going to use these services to their fullest capacity.
Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server 2003 is very CPU
intensive with its crawling and indexing functions. Microsoft Office Project Server 2003 is just as intensive
for its publishing and VWnotify services.
Note Running these services at the same time on the same server may
create conflicts. For example, some of the conflicts that may occur
include:
Excessive memory usage
Excessive paging to the hard disk drive
Service performance degradation
One service delaying the start of the other service
To install Project Server 2003
and SharePoint
Portal Server 2003
on the same server, follow these steps:
Install SharePoint Portal Server 2003.
For
additional information about how to install SharePoint Portal Server 2003, see
the Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server 2003 Administration Guide that is located in the \Docs folder in the root of the SharePoint
Portal Server 2003 CD-ROM.
Note Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services is installed in conjunction
with the installation of SharePoint Portal Server 2003.
For additional
information about Windows SharePoint Services, see the Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 2.0 Administrator's Guide.

password that never expires. You can then use the same user account for the
PSCOM+ components.
Click OK to close Extend
and Create Content Database.
