When you open a Microsoft Word for Mac Notebook
recovery file after Word for Mac abruptly stops running because of a power
loss or because of other reasons, any audio recordings that you were in the
process of creating before the crash are not recovered.
This problem occurs because Word for Mac uses MP4 Audio
encoding for the audio recordings and the Audio Note file cannot be recovered
by the AutoRecover feature in Word for Mac unless the audio file is
correctly closed and saved. Therefore, if Word for Mac crashes during a
recording session, the Audio Note file is lost.
Microsoft
has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed
in the "Applies to" section.
