SYMPTOMS

When you open an e-mail message in Microsoft Outlook Express 6.0, the e-mail sender's name appears as Sender Unspecified or Unknown.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if the Norton Internet Security software is installed on your computer.

RESOLUTION

The Norton Internet Security software suite contains multiple products including antivirus and personal firewall software. Contact Symantec for more information about how to configure their software so that it is compatible with both Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Outlook Express.
