Installation InformationYou must be logged on as an administrator to install this update rollup. To install a downloaded version of this update, run the 871260 update rollup package or the security update 867801 (for Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP 64-Bit Edition, Version 2003) that you downloaded by using the appropriate Setup switches. If you are an enterprise administrator, you can deploy update rollup 871260 by using Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) Feature Pack or SMS 2003. MBSA can recognize that the update rollup has been installed, and if it has, to correctly indicate that MS04-025 is present. Either the security update or the update rollup can be deployed by SMS because the newer file versions of the rollup are recognized by MBSA as equivalent from a security perspective as the MS04-025 security update. You cannot use MBSA to determine whether the update rollup is specifically relevant for the computer being assessed. For example, you cannot use MSBA to determine whether any post-MS04-004 hotfixes are in use. You can only use MSBA to determine whether minimum security baseline established by MS04-025 has, or has not been met. You cannot use Microsoft Software Update Services (SUS) to deploy update rollup 871260. For additional information on deploying update rollup 871260 using SMS to only those computers running post-MS04-004 hotfixes or on determining if the update rollup has been installed on client computers, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: 867832
