SYMPTOMS

The Inetinfo.exe process may use 100 percent of the CPU resources on a computer that is running Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when a session that is encrypted issues a request to renegotiate the connection. This problem occurs because Exchange does not support requests to renegotiate a connection for a session that is encrypted.

RESOLUTION

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.
