On This PageSYMPTOMSConsider the following scenario. You set up the Media Center Extender for Windows XP Media Center Edition on a Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005-based computer. The Media Center Extender service creates a Media Center Extender connection to the sub-desktop session. However, the Media Center Extender service cannot create the sub-desktop session until the Media Center Extender is enabled. Therefore, you have to enable the Media Center Extender before you use the Media Center Extender device. Note The sub-desktop session to Windows XP Media Center Edition is a unique Windows session. This session is created and controlled by the Media Center Extender service.
