SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario. Microsoft SQL Server 2000 build 2187 is configured as a Microsoft Cluster Service (MSCS) node. You try to uninstall SQL Server 2000 build 2187 by using Add or Remove Programs. In this scenario, you cannot uninstall SQL Server 2000 build 2187.

This problem occurs on 64-bit Itanium architecture-based computers. When this problem occurs, you may receive a message that resembles the following in the SQL Server Setup log:
