SUMMARY

When you try to start Microsoft SoftGrid, the program does not start and you receive the following error message:
The SoftGrid Client could not launch <application_name>
An error occurred while waiting for the application to be ready to interact with the User. Please try again. If the problem persists, please report the following error code to your System Administrator.
Error code: xxxxxx-xxxxxx04-0000041D

This problem can occur if the following conditions are true:
  • The SUBSYSTEM element is missing from the .OSD file.
    Note If the SUBYSTEM element is missing from the file, the VM element may also be missing from the file. Edit the .OSD file by using a text editor to find the following section.
    <VM VALUE="Win32">
    <SUBSYSTEM VALUE="windows"/>
    </VM>
    
  • The VALUE attribute of the SUBSYTEM element is configured incorrectly.

    For most sequences, the SUBSYSTEM element will be configured as follows.
    <SUBSYSTEM VALUE="windows"/>
    If the FILENAME element is a console application, the value must be modified from "windows" to "console."
    Note An example of a console application is cmd.exe.
