Consider the following scenario. A computer is running an instance of the original release version of Microsoft SQL Server 2005. The computer is also running an instance of SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2 (SP2). You install SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 1 (SP1) on the instance of the original release version of SQL Server 2005. In this scenario, you receive the following error message when the Setup program installs the Setup Support Files component:
Additionally, the following error message is logged in the Redist9_Hotfix_KB913090_SqlSupport.msp.log file:
A recently applied update, KB913090, failed to install.
SqlSupport.msp is not digitally signed.
To work around this problem, follow these steps.
